A Case Study on Rural Climate Resiliency

DHRRA Malaysia conducted a focus group discussion to understand the climate resilience of rural community in Malaysia.

Varied studies have been carried out on the impact of climate changes in Malaysia, but there is a lack of focus on climate resilience of rural community. This study explores the rural climate resiliency in Malaysia with a focus on rural community in Kemaman, Terengganu; a low lying coastal area which is prone to floods during monsoon season.

As part ReCoERDO’s activity, DHRRA Malaysia aims to bring the voices of the rural community in Malaysia to a regional platform and to deliberate on a more holistic measure in addressing the urgent need for efforts to increase the rural community’s climate resilience.
