COVIDCAREMY: A Mother’s Call

Among hundreds of call COVIDCAREMY receives daily, there was one call from a desperate mother for food aid. At the age of 66, instead of being taken care of, she is the caregiver for her 40 years old blind son. Their lives were much more pleasant and manageable prior to the death of her husband, who was a technician. They had even attempted to provide their son with education – to make him more independent. However, he was not given admission in school for visually impaired students as he is also deaf. Since the passing of her husband, the family have been surviving on EPF savings and also with the help of relatives. MCO has severely impacted their already fragile life. She was extremely grateful to COVIDCAREMY when immediate grocery aid was delivered to their doorstep. COVIDCAREMY has also organized transportation to the eye hospital for the son’s overdue appointment.
