EVENT OVERVIEW

Move on your own terms! Walk - Jog - Run anywhere, anytime. In accordance with the local COVID 19 guideline off course, from Jan 16 till Apr 25, 2021, while raising awareness on statelessness and becoming a change agent in your community

Statelessness Awareness Virtual Walk

Statelessness Awareness Virtual Walk is a virtual campaign by DHRRA Malaysia to bring awareness on statelessness and documentation issues. Statelessness has serious consequences as stateless persons have limited access to healthcare, education, livelihood and other basic human rights. The COVID 19 pandemic has made the vulnerability of stateless persons more visible. Stateless persons are 'not considered as a citizen by any state under the operation of its law'.

A Virtual Run is where participants who register for an event can run anywhere within the specified time-frame as long as they provide proof of their completed distance through digital apps or wearables. As the Covid-19 pandemic has halted the staging of mass participation events, at least for the foreseeable future, Virtual Runs are increasingly becoming the next viable option to fill that void. Join us from 16th Jan 2020 to 25 Apr 2021 for virtual walk and various awareness raising activities online. Let’s dedicate these 100 days to enhance our understanding on statelessness, its causes and ways to address it.

The Virtual Run will offer the 100km, 50km, 10km and 5km distance categories and runners from all over the world are expected to participate. Everyone virtually stays connected and keeps themselves active to motivate, empower and stay healthy even if it means you need to work out and run at the comfort of your own home. Let's fight for a cause and keep the people around us active and happier! Let’s workout at home, keep your safe distance and stay healthy!
