MyDocument was introduced in 2003 as part of DHRRA Malaysia’s community development project.
Also known as Projek Mendaftar Anak Malaysia, this initiative gets full support from the Malaysian Government through the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the National Registration Department (NRD).
Using the information gathered during the mapping process (door-to-door visits), our experienced case workers assist grassroot Indian community in submitting their applications to NRD regarding legal documentation issues.
Common cases involve birth certificates, identity cards, citizenship, marriage registration and adoption. These cases are mostly recorded in Kedah, Perak, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
Statelessness is a very curical issue because a stateless person would not be entitled to education, job opportunities, medical care services and other benefits enjoyed by any other citizen.
Since 2004, a total of 8,350 cases involving birth certificates and identity cards have been solved through MyDocument project; while around 5,600 cases are in the process at NRD.
If you know anyone facing legal documentation issues, ask them to contact DHRRA Malaysia immediately for assistance.
