Your contribution will allow us to continue to provide avenue for children to adopt healthy and active lifestyle while identifying and developing talents in sports for our country. For a player to benefit from the Sports Development Programme, it cost RM150. In order to develop 1,200 players in a year, RM180,000 has to be generated.

Emotional and cognitive development goes hand in hand with physical development as the latter enhances the former. Sports is a common pass time for many but it has been reduced to playing sports for hours on the computer and spending time on the couch watching games aired on Television.

Recognizing the need to enhance the physical wellbeing of our community, we have launched sports development programme which aims to promote sports-oriented active lifestyle. Furthermore, through this programme, talents in sports will be identified and nurtured to compete in world-class arena. We also conduct Coaches Education programme in order to be able to train more children and youths. Through the 3 days 2 night training programme, coaches will be equipped with skills and knowledge to train children at various levels.

At the moment, 100 children, who were identified through Talent Identification programme, are enrolled in the Badmintion Clinic for skills development. This pilot project was launched in 2012 at 4 areas; Petaling Jaya, Hulu Selangor, Kepong and Perak. We also organize Tournaments to encourage healthy competitive spirit.  Serving as a platform to promote unity, DHRRA’s Sports Development Programme is expected to expand into other form of sports, health education, sports for elders and many more.
